Aaron Loux

Aaron Loux is a multifaceted dance artist, choreographer, and educator living in New York City. He encountered modern dance as a child at Seattle’s Creative Dance Center with Anne Greene Gilbert, later earning a B.F.A. from Juilliard. From 2010 to 2022, Aaron was a celebrated member of the Mark Morris Dance Group, appearing in the New York Times’ “Top Male Dance Performances of 2014.” He has also performed with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Merce Cunningham Trust, Cornfield Dance, Christopher Williams Dance, and Arc Dance Company. His choreography has been presented at the Juilliard School, Marymount Manhattan College, the Works & Process Artists Virtual Commissions series at the Guggenheim, and dance festivals across the country. Aaron teaches dance and yoga to adults of diverse backgrounds, including beginners, professionals, and dancers living with Parkinson’s disease through the Dance for PD® program. He has led company class for the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Mark Morris Dance Group, and the José Limón, Paul Taylor, and Gibney dance companies. Aaron is currently an adjunct instructor at Marymount Manhattan College and leads open ballet classes at Gibney Dance Center and the Taylor School. In May 2025, he graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a BA in American Studies. Aaron’s writing on dance appears in the September 2023 and January 2024 issues of PAJ: A Journal of Performance and Art, published by MIT Press.
