IngaMarie Gerson

Originally from Western, New York, IngaMarie Gerson began her training at The Wallace School of Dance and The Royal Academy of Ballet. She continued her training at such schools as The Joffrey Ballet, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Academy, The David Howard Dance Center and Broadway Dance Center. She holds a B.A in Dance Education from SUNY at Buffalo.
As a dancer, IngaMarie has performed throughout the United States with ballet companies such as The Riverside Ballet Theater in California, The Charleston Ballet Company in South Carolina and The Buffalo City Ballet Company in New York.
Regional Theaters credits include:
”Pippin”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” as Dance Capt., ‘Anything Goes”, “The Who’s Tommy”, “The Ballet Man”, and “Love Liberty And The Happiness of Pursuit”. Other credits include performing on The Dolphin Cruise Line in Broadway revue shows and for such artists as Aretha Franklin, Huey Lewis and the News, and The Beach Boys.
She can be seen on TV/Film in episodes of HBO’s “And Just Like That”, “Sex In The City”, “Succession”, “Club LaBamba” and The movie musical “The Wheel Goes Round”.
As a choreographer and director IngaMarie has worked on such shows as Pippin, Annie, The Lion King, Beauty and The Beast as well as several revue shows and Ballets. Additionally she directed and choreographed original Off Broadway shows Where To Draw The Line and Determination and was Assistant Director for Les Grimas with Shotgun Productions.
IngaMarieis founder and Artisitic Director of The Zany Theatre Projects, a theater company designed to showcase original productions at theaters and schools in the New York City area and she continually choreographs and directs professionally throughout the tri-state area.
As a guest teaching artist IngaMarie has taught throughout the country as well as internationally. She has been on faculty at Steps on Broadway for over 20 years. She was Ballet Mistress for The Buffalo Inner City Ballet, taught at The Elliot Feld’s Ballet Tech, University at Buffalo, and as Dept. Head of D’Youville College and many other reputable schools in the tri-state area. Some of Inga’s most rewarding work would include her volunteer work with children with special needs.
IngaMarie teaches classes in ballet, pointe, theater jazz, jazz, and tap.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
A strong focus on honoring the level of each individual person.
Each class teaches you through developmental exercises and an understanding of the process to build correct alignment, mechanical fundamentals, musical dynamics, style, and performance skills. A supportive atmosphere where dancers are motivated to unleash their inner artist all while working towards the common goal of self-improvement without judgement.
